Empowering Tomorrow's Fuel: Explore the World of Biodiesel

Lathitha Biodiesel

About Company

LATHITHA-Biodiesel is a 100% black female-owned business based in Johannesburg Ekurhuleni, Tsakane. The visionary behind this enterprise is Phumzile Khoza, who founded the company in June 2020. With a passion for environmental sustainability and the upliftment of livelihoods, Khoza identified a gap in the market that led to the birth of LATHITHA-Biodiesel. In her pursuit of providing a green energy source, Khoza entered a formal business collaboration with LATHITHA-BIODIESEL and a South African petroleum refinery. This partnership has enabled LATHITHA-Biodiesel to provide high-quality and affordable biodiesel for the running of diesel farm equipment, construction, and other on/off road uses.
One of the keyways that LATHITHA-Biodiesel achieves its objective is by sourcing used oil (UCO). This is a crucial product in the production of green energy sources. By providing reliable and eco-friendly fuel, LATHITHA-Biodiesel is helping to reduce pollution in the environment, lower dependency on imported diesel, and assist with job creation and economic growth among the youth in townships.
Since its inception, LATHITHA-Biodiesel has been committed to producing biodiesel that is not only environmentally friendly but also cost-effective. The company’s biodiesel is competitively priced, making it a viable alternative for businesses and individuals who are looking to reduce their carbon footprint without breaking the bank.
With an unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and the upliftment of livelihoods, LATHITHA-Biodiesel is poised to become a leading player in the biodiesel industry in South Africa. Under the leadership of Phumzile Khoza, the company is well-positioned to make a significant impact on the environment while providing affordable and reliable fuel solutions for businesses and individuals.

How We Work

We collect used cooking oil Process it Supply it

1.

We collaborate with local food establishments, including townships, hotels, and restaurants, to gather their used cooking oil and convert it into biodiesel. This process not only enhances the flavour of the food by preventing the reuse of used cooking oil in the food chain but also improves the health of the community. Our professional service for collecting used cooking oil ensures that our clients can rest easy knowing that their oil has been transformed into a renewable product.

2.

By utilising waste-based biodiesel, we can significantly reduce net CO2 emissions by up to 95% compared to traditional diesel. This is because each carbon atom is used twice: once for cooking and once as fuel, before being released into the atmosphere. Our waste collection systems and services not only decrease environmental pollution but also convert waste into resources.

3.

One of the benefits of biodiesel is that it can be used in existing diesel engines with minimal modifications. However, there are concerns regarding vehicle warranty and biodiesel use, and it has a slightly lower energy content of about 10%.
